Sunday is markey day in Cotacachi. Although the indoor market operates 7 days a week, Sunday is the day it's filled with farmers and their produce, to the point of overflowing outside. Our meeting is at 3:30 p.m. so we had lots of time to shop for fresh fruit and vegatables.
Every kind of fruit and vegatable is available. Sweet cherries, citrus, grapes, etc. etc.
All the produce is priced at a small fraction of what we see in Canada.
This is why Roger and I are here. Our wives load up our back packs until we squeek.
Just after this photo was taken, Roger ducked into a small woman's shop and bought nail polish.
Really.
Is he painting his nails? Has being at 0 degrees latitude, 8010 ft. above sea level and on the equator made him go bonkers? Nope, he got tired of carrying so many keys (looked like a school janitor) and fumbling for what key was what. So he decided to colour code those little critters.
When he falls asleep we might paint his toe nails.
Yeah, you really should paint his toenails!! (the Jandas)
