Atuntaqui is a small town of 21,000 population located just ten minutes from Ibarra. The Kingdom Hall is located in Atuntaqui which makes it possible to walk directly to the territory to preach as opposed to taking buses and taxis to other neighbouring towns. Since 2000, Atuntaqui has been noted for its textile industry and crafts. The streets are lined with retail stores selling sweaters, dresses, sheets, towels and all manner of clothing and garment related materials.
